Marketing technology is one of the fastest growing high-tech business clusters in Indianapolis, with four recent IPOs or acquisitions alone representing 3,100 local jobs and $4.26 billion in market value. In total, more than 30 marketing tech firms are headquartered in the greater Indianapolis area, and some of their nationally recognized leaders are joining forces with TechPoint to create a marketable identity and showcase the community during a new event called M-TECH: The Marketing Tech Experience, presented by Comcast Business. M-TECH will be held in conjunction with the last day of ExactTarget Connections – the largest marketing technology user conference of its kind in the U.S., which brings thousands of marketing tech professionals to town every year. M-Tech ticket holders will get to see the Connections conference keynote address by former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and “Burst Presentations” by marketing and technology leaders from some of the world’s most recognized brands.

This week we discussed the incredible growth of Mobile Applications. The number of mobile application builders has exploded in growth in recent years - offering every business the opportunity to compete in a category that has a ton of attention but not too many takers. Our own marketing blog application (for iPhone and Droid) was developed by Postano, who did a beautiful job developing it. They have a framework perfectly built for working with content management systems.
